Absent voter ballots are available for all elections. If one of the following applies to you, you are
eligible for an absentee ballot:

  • 60 years of age or older
  • Expect to be absent from the community in which you are registered for the entire time the
    polls are open on election day
  • Physically unable to attend the polls without the assistance of another
  • Cannot attend the polls because of the tenets of your religion
  • Have been appointed an election inspector in a precinct other than the precinct where you reside
  • You are confined to jail awaiting arraignment or trial

Absentee ballot applications are available at the Clerk's Office. The Saturday before each election is the
last day to apply for an absentee ballot by mail. The last day to request an absentee ballot in person is
4:00 PM on the day before the election in the Clerk's Office. The ballot must be voted in the Clerk's Office
on that day.  All absent voter ballots must be received by the Clerk's Office no later than 8:00 PM on election day.
